It's all "levels." Get a VPN, use decentralized tech like Nostr and Bitcoin and you're already ahead of the curve for 99% of people.

Get a VPN is terrible advice.

The government use VPNs to spy on you.

No solution is perfect. Everything is tradeoffs.

The question is is it *easier* for the government to spy on you when using the open Internet through the cable that comes into your house, vs using a VPN?
