“The American Dream isn’t ‘Let them eat flat screens’” is such an incredible line. Cuts straight to the core of what we’re fighting for.

Cheap electronics from China are the equivalent of economic SSRIs. Synthetic happiness that completely misses the core of the problem.

It's also a play on "let them eat cake" which is another great parallel.

Thinking on this. High velocity trash economy goods like flat screens aren’t synthetic SSRIs. SSRIs themselves are synthetic attempts to dull the madness experienced by the mass of men and the flat screen is a derivative good meant to make the chemical seem like it’s working.

What's the context for this line?

When I see a TV on in someone's home I tend to lose a few respect points for them. Always makes me think of Soma from Brave New World- the opiate for the masses

Lmao what an egotistical thing to say

Not saying its right, just what I honestly feel
