These are what I’m usually hunting for; golden chanterelles. Usually cleaner than whites and has a bit of an apricot taste to the white chanterelle. My personal favorite way to have them is to pickle them, which seems strange, but it’s pretty great.

That sounds intriguing. I've always wanted to forage for mushrooms but never been taught and IDing them seems pretty critical to avoid dying.

Yes it took me a long time to really get comfortable with it, as I tend to be anxious about that sort of thing, but chanterelles are quite easy to identify by their distinctive color, and false gills (they look more like veins) which distinguish them from deadly poisonous ones.
