My guess is this is true. Everything has gotten SUPER confusing however recently as now the Democratic party, by almost any normal measure, is the party for rich people. Disorienting.

Really? That doesn't resonate. I think the wealthy skew republican. Apart from just a general sense that the wealthy people in my life tend to be republican, I also think there's a theoretical reason why that skew would happen: (1) democrats typically support bills that raise taxes on the rich (2) possession of wealth incentivizes protection of wealth (3) that incentive presumably biases wealthy people against the party that wants to raise their taxes, i.e. against the democrats. Thoughts?

If you hang out with Bitcoiners, you will find rich Republicans. If you hang out among the (former) Tesla owners of California, you will find only rich Democrats... But looking at stats like this, looks like higher income people did skew democratic in 2024.. Although "income over 200k" is not rich...

Yeah but that's California, everything skews democrat there

I'd like to see stats for income over 400k

That's rich in Ohio where I'm from, I don't know if it's rich in California though
