Let me clarify this. I work hard for my sats believe it or not. I also despise trading/shitcoining. If i somehow know the person on the other end is some lettuce-handed bitch, i am down to send them a total of zero of my sats

If i have the good fortune of being more or less confident that i’m not one degree of responsibility away from sats being exchanged for cuckbucks, then fuck yeah i will zap them

I’m also not into telling people what to do with their corn… just not giving the fucky ones any of mine. And yes, most of the time i have no idea. They get the benefit of the doubt until they reveal their shitty ways

I think it’s a real debate that anyone who truly understands bitcoin has to have with themselves. It would be foolish to spend sats frivolously, and it’s not up to me to tell anyone what to do with their sats either. The reason I asked the initial question is because I was thinking about Nostr adoption, and I wonder what it will take for non-bitcoiner content creators to meaningfully monetize their content here. It will either require people with bitcoin to spend their sats more freely, or there will need to be more services like Strike that easily convert between fiat and bitcoin under the hood. The other alternative is for KYC fiat payment services to find their way into Nostr, and that doesn’t seem ideal.

That’s true, i was thinking in pretty narrow/privileged terms. In the sense of #grownostr i would be far more open to zapping content creators who are most likely selling to pay their bills

Yea, in that sense it’s like paying with Lightning at a restaurant/vendor or other business that accepts it. You assume at least some of it is probably going to be converted to fiat to pay bills, but the hope is that it encourages adoption and ultimately normalizes a bitcoin-based economy.
