Mastodon is highly regarded. It is culturally defined by people who have been selected out of polite society, accomplished nothing in their lives, and therefore feel entitled to make everyone as miserable and uncomfortable as they are.

Check which relays they are being propagated by and limit their ability to feed your global in the relay settings. I found that nostr.band was mostly what fouled up my global.
