github pages allows you to host a website through github. they'll give you a clunky & long domain name that contains your username and other bullshit. I host my website that way (cheap and avoiding VPS costs), but I got my own domain which points to github.

I believe I found a guide somewhere on the internet when i set this up a year ago. if I have time during or after work I'll do some web searching to see if I can find the resources I used.
