are there any companies that make "old" mobile phones with newer spec?

unsure if i were to buy the old ones, that the frequencies etc would work

not sure exactly what you're looking for...but the punkt mp02 looks pretty awesome

I liked it, but I didn't last long using it. Lack of email was a deal breaker for me. Basically if you want something just for emergencies its good but in my opinion there are cheaper options for that as a flip phone goes.

I honestly think the Pixel 6a or Pixel 7a with GrapheneOS installed with a launcher like KISS launcher and minimal apps downloaded is probably best way to go. Signal+Email and access to anything else in a pinch if needed. You can make it what you want, has modern specs, and a great camera if ever needed.

BlackBerry 10 OS phones are actually pretty simple and amazing but sadly no longer supported so no longer secure. Blackberry Hub for notifications and the gesture based UI was ahead of its time. Sadly we have a lot less options today.

Punkt is a company to watch though they almost made this device I would of probably loved. Supposedly they are going make it but running their fork of GrapheneOS which might fix the shortcomings I had with the MP02

My dad still rocks a flip phone so I did search a lot for 4G older style phones because all the old flip phones stopped working when most major carriers turned off 3G. Your options here are very shitty and most are pretty crappy built running KaiOS. Only modern spec ones of course are the Android ones that are fragile because folding screen.

something like the light phone

$300 😅 i love the design

Love the design too. Definitely overpriced

If not there’s unlocked older Nokias or easyfones on Amazon for a fraction of that price. But not exactly what you’re looking for
