Feels to me like this might just be confusion about how Damus works.
There is a specific call out that "tips" are allowed.
It says apps are allowed to facilitate tipping with currencies that were bought through Apple’s in-app purchase mechanism. If Damus deleted external wallet integrations and allowed users to buy sats only through in-app purchases, I guess Apple would relent.
but all that’s changed is damus shipped zap splits. They aren’t saying that notes are digital content… I believe they are saying damus is the digital content that is being tipped for… and they require that to be done through “in app purchases™ “
Meh, this wouldn’t work, because even if Damus had its own Lightning wallet you could still receive sats from anywhere, and send sats to anywhere outside of Damus.
