The “Burden of the Beast” piece by @sabatomstudios was probably the most timely and prophetic art at #burningman2023

It is made out of reclaimed materials from houses destroyed from climate disasters in New Orleans. It depicts the way in our homes and lives would migrate to safer places escaping the impact of climate change if we lived in a Miyazaki movie.

Instead of our homes becoming a giant buffalo to carry us to safer pastures we have refugees who must flee with nothing but what they carry. If that isn’t hard enough we criminalize their migration!

It is so fitting that this piece was at a burningman where we saw multiple storms hit and flood the desert.

Almost everyone reacted with cooperation and humanity. Making sure they and their neighbors were ok. A few elite and wealthy panicked and fled. This is what they are going to do in the default world and we must both educate them in to not hating humanity and also prevent them from causing more damage in their panic.

Wow what a structure! Nice to hear of the community coming together during the events of burning man.

Reminds me that at the end of the day most people are genuinely good and want to help their fellow man.

Thanks for sharing rabble!

Extremely cool & well done fellow humans! 🔥

This piece does look like it’s been taken from a Ghbli studio movie, great job!

It was burnt at the end of the festival, right ?

Possession, recycling,

purification, cleansing.

Is there scientific evidence this one weather event can be attributed to climate change?

It’s the frequency of the storms and intensity which is connected to climate change. So one of the storms no. But the three within two weeks? Yes. There’s now overwhelming scientific peer reviewed and verified evidence.
