Has anyone ever changed the Lightning port on their iPhone?

Mine is becoming hit or miss, with more misses lately. I have to push and jam it to try to get that green charge going.

I know Qi chargers are a thing but I’d like the lightning port to work if possible.

Cut a straw with a point and clean the port, something lint from our pockets build up

This is always my go to when charging starts acting up. Take a toothpick and dig in there. You’d be surprised how much lint/dust accumulates.

Ai 🤖 is on your phone 📱 they want you to upgrade 🤦🏽‍♂️

Did this begin to happen right around the time that they announced a new product? 🤔

Interesting!!

Didn’t they get sued for doing something like this before? Basically they were downgrading the phones functionality essentially “forcing” an upgrade.

Yeah. Iphone six.

They nuked the battery.

Forced me to upgrade to 7.

Was infuriating.

I have the same issue with an iPhone and have been restricted to Qi charging only. CarPlay won’t work either because I can’t connect the cable. I bought a new iPhone as my (expensive) fix. I use the other one for testing (I’m a mobile dev) only now.

Don’t want to hand the device over to a repair shop and am too busy to attempt the repair myself.

If you fix it yourself, I would like to hear about how that goes. Good luck.

Could just be your cord as well.

They break down over time

WD40 and then compressed air clean the port .. normal build of lint .. also get a new lightning cable and adapter ..

Sounds good. I have WD-40 and compressed air available.
