So, I actually onboarded a friend with Strike two days ago.

I said to him: there is an easy way to use bitcoin and there is a right way to use bitcoin. First I’ll show you the easy way, next time I’ll show you the right way.

He downloaded Strike, set it up with an email address and was ready to go.

There were two positives about the experience:

First, he was happy that he could buy bitcoin directly within the app.

Second, he was amazed about that the payment was instant.

Pretty cool stuff in the making in this space.

i know it's kind of a retarded question, but are bisq or robosats really that difficult? maybe robosats because you need to have an understanding of lightning to begin with, but bisq has it's own wallet, you find an amount you want to purchase, you purchase it. No KYC from day 1. That's how i'd roll with a newbie these days I think.

I never tried Bisq because it doesn’t work on my Mac. So I’ve no experience there. Neither with Robosats. But I agree that no KYC from the beginning is better. My family bought no KYC from the beginning, because I have the time to explain and they trust me. But I had the experience that the less I say the better. I don’t want to explain this and explain that. I want an easy and quick way to get someone to use bitcoin and be able to buy it.

yep makes sense. whatever the case you're doing a good thing orange pilling people! 🙏

this is why Vexl exists! it answers that question how do I buy bitcoin. well you did it p2p and without kyc. vexl is a non profit tool. supported by donations only and a grant from open sats.

I’m waiting for the iOS app of vexl. This could be really interesting

You can download it via TestFlight

Here is our blog about Apple https://blog.vexl.it/apple-using-cash-is-clearly-reckless-77e2a519a3bc

If he is using strike he is not using Bitcoin..
