My wife and I have different passports. When we travel to a new country, I mentally convert prices into the currency of my citizenship. However, my wife does not do this because the exchange rate of her country's currency has been consistently declining for many years. Converting to her currency would not give her an accurate understanding of prices. Instead, my wife prefers to mentally convert prices into the currency of the country we just arrived from. This helps her understand the price levels.

Interesting! I think we usually need 1 currency, that our mind associate value with. And if we see other prices, we just convert.
