When I joined nostr, my first thought as to why this protocol would win was — network effects due to interoperability of apps and intermingling of content. This was pre-zaps and I certainly didn’t care about censorship resistance one bit.

Sadly, we don’t have great cross-app experiences yet. We have some and they are cool, but nothing killer. Nothing feels quite polished enough just yet.

I still believe this is nostr’s best selling point. But we don’t have a good experience to sell yet.

Zaps are awesome but too niche. Maybe in the long run people will realize how awesome they are. Censorship resistance- meh, no one cares.

Id love to see more of the interoperability ideas and some collaboration for polished experiences.

A fresh, new and interesting applicatioon where the user doesn't know they are using nostr, is what will lead to mass adoption.

99.999% Users don't know the intricacies of TCP/UDP, HTTP(S) or DNS when they use the internet, the same applies to nostr. It's a protocol, not a platform. It needs to, and will, melt into the background.
