one thing i miss about the fediverse, is people's radical commitment to their values. one thing i dont miss about the fediverse is the actual values many were commited to.

I occasionally debate with myself about setting up another server for activity pub. It's a weird experience being a solo server that doesn't have speech policies, so you get blocked by most of the larger instances.
yeah. i still have a honk instance. its so small and resource sparing i just leave it, and check in on it from time to time.
i use it to search for openbsd, and smol web stuff that is happening in the deep parts of the techno-leftyverse. whatever that is.🤓🤷
there is no denying that the alt tech community is strong in there.
When I first joined the fediverse, I was amazed at how many lefties there were. Had never met so many in my life.
On the other hand, the aesthetics of the instance I joined was top notch.
what i miss are the days when it didnt matter what your politcs were. and the freedom of the tech mattered most.
