i do this with my relay-in-testing using a cheap VPS running wireguard and connect to it via wireguard, and on the VPS i have a reverse proxy with LetsEncrypt set up to point to my PC's wireguard address and the relay port and i can use my relay with any client that respects my relay settings (mostly, sorta, kinda, they do; nostrudel is the best for this)

it's a multi-step process a bit to learn to be able to do it but it's not that hard really... my reverse proxy is very simple to config too... https://mleku.dev/git/lerproxy and my relay is not ready for production so i won't link you to it... and https://github.com/angristan/wireguard-install is the wireguard installer script... easiest to do this with an ubuntu 20+ installation on your VPS
