A short conversation between a dharma friend and I.

From another thread regarding Dzogchen and recognizing the Buddha Mind called rigpa, and differentiating it from a peaceful thought-free state of the karmic mind.

………. this is well known in a Dzogchen. I talked to Ponlop Rinpoche about being able to discern the difference between alaya and rigpa. There is a huge

difference: alaya can be clear and peaceful but there is no quality of penetrating clarity that is self- validating wisdom. Rigpa leaves no doubt. *If you are uncertain about your awareness being rigpa or not, it’s not.* There is no doubt as rigpa. See?

I responded: If there is doubt appearing isn't that the expression of rigpa or how rigpa is currently taking form?

He replied: bingo!
