There is nothing stopping someone from running on mainnet now but it is not recommended.

There are release candidates being iterated in right now. If you’re technically savvy (Linux CLI), there’s a script in the Fedimint GitHub for running on MutinyNet (a custom signet with decent activity).

Fedimint is similar to lightning. There are no code changes so it’s just a matter of getting the software to a stable state for handling real money. I foresee adoption growing steadily over time, like the lightning network.

Check this folder for some scripts to run on Linux. I’ve generally used a 4Gb RAM digital ocean droplet.
