Unpopular take. Colonizing Mars is a terrible idea. I don't think that humanity has the mental fortitude to permanently live in a place like that. I believe we will forever be a single planet species.

Can science happen there? Sure. Vacations? Ok, np. But families will never grow up there. And if they do they will not have lives that anyone would ever want.
