Can anybody help me figure out what this piece is on my air compressor and why it leaks air? This is a brand new air compressor that I just bought yesterday. Had the same thing happen to an older air compressor the other day, both Husky brand.

Sometimes air leaks at the threads. Yup can use Teflon tape and see it that does the trick. Easy low cost fix.
