Joaquin Phoenix's Joker was an overrated movie. There, I said it.
Discussion
Absolutely right. Taxi Driver, Network, King of Comedy did it all better.
Agreed...

Was so excited for it to come out and the darker take. Then the world went insane and I couldn't even bring myself to watch it. Still haven't.
Same
Don't do it. Take my word for it
And My word is currency that holds this world together so you can believe it to absolutely true
Watching it tonight then.
Watch it. The social messages are more, every role in this movie signifies a social group. However, some points to highlight highlight
Mental illness and the person who is ill.
Heroization as a fuel for violence.
The experts "don't listen".
The man with power!
How do children grow up.

I will someday.
Noir is a genre that I have always loved deeply but have to take a break from when times are tough.
Not everyone will enjoy the same films or appreciate the same performances, but to dismiss the success and impact of Joker as merely overrated does a disservice to the film's many achievements.
It was a boring ass movie.
It's just that since alot of movies suck anything that sucks less is called awesome.
"Hey guys this movie is SO NOT WOKE"
As if not being woke is enough to qualify as a good movie.
