It's funny because it's true...

A Silicon Valley tech entrepreneur who traveled to Burning Man in search of personal enlightenment reportedly returned home this week with three new investors and a Series A term sheet.

Jacob Linton, 34, told friends before leaving that he hoped to “disconnect from the noise” and “rediscover his authentic self” in the Nevada desert. Instead, he spent most of the week networking with other venture capitalists at a luxury RV compound known as Camp Disrupt.

“I came here with nothing but an open mind, a spirit of curiosity, and a 60-page pitch deck,” Linton said while sipping a $16 coconut water he bartered for using stock options. “And I left with $12 million in funding. That’s the magic of The Burn.”

Fellow attendees said Linton participated in at least one sunrise mushroom meditation, which he described as “the perfect time to discuss revenue streams.”

When asked if he had managed to “find himself,” Linton smiled at his new investors. “I found a higher version of myself,” he said. “One with a much better valuation.”

“He is tripping his balls off, he absolutely stinks, his eyeballs are full of sand, and he’s paranoid that everybody is going to bury him alive in the desert… but his start-up’s balance sheet is having the time of its life.”
