it's funny how these things happen. during covid early days I was talking to someone else who saw through the bullshit and was searching for a word to refer to the people who didn't.. .. while also expressing that belief in the bullshit was not about whether it was true or not, but really was a question of conformity.. ..and the people I wanted to refer to were conforming about everything, not just this..

..and the word "normie" came into my mind, and I said it.

I literally think that in that moment I had invented the word. I didn't think I'd heard it before.

but I don't think everyone else uses it because they heard it from me - but rather lots of people like me went through the same process and at some point found the same word - and soon it was ubiquitous
