I’ve never met anyone using lightning who doesn’t know it’s an L2 off chain. Do they exist, sure? But I don’t think this is a major misconception users have.

Right, like I said, I’ve never interacted with anyone using lightning that is confused that lightning isn’t on chain. They all are aware that it’s a separate network.
ok, you know it but most people think it is the bitcoin network. make people aware that no one sends a large amount over lightning. it is not secure and not as decentralized as the bitcoin network
