But the true beauty of democracy is that, since the voter feels he’s been given a choice, whatever comes out of that choice is somehow “fair.” He will now tolerate whatever level of oppression is placed upon his shoulders, even if the victor was not the candidate he voted for.

This is why the United States explicitly rejected democracy at it's founding. If only more citizens would read the Declaration of Independence and Constitution and stop listening to Corporate Media.
Would you agree that the United States has become more of a democracy over it's history as the right to vote has been expanded, the 17th Amendment was added which makes Senators elected by "the People" instead of the state legislatures, and people have discovered that they can vote money out of other people's pockets to put into their own?
