Is this actually necessary?

Most of my political video-watching I've moved to Rumble to escape YT censorship; mostly I use YT for esports & high quality documentary content

I use a psuedonymous YT account to view & comment, which is not connected to my identity (although Google still knows who I am as it's on the same Google account)

I made a piped.video account and tried to search for the first thing I wanted to watch (Afreeca ASL starcraft finals came out today) and the search took forever (I gave up after 30 seconds)

so this does not seem to be a functional option thus far
