if they already have venmo or PayPal, it doesn't get easier I get it's not the best out there, but it's easier if they already use something.

I reckon gift them a seed phrase, and tell them they can install a wallet to see what you have given them - suggest a simple wallet. They get skin in the game by having to do something. Give them a nostr key pair even as well. Then they can spend/send their sats easily too. Even earn some maybe.
