No matter how nice my apps are I always feel like a fake dev about to be exposed for being a noob.

But like a noob with 20 years experience

Imposter syndrome is real. πŸ«‚

Imposter syndrome is too real: it’s also a liar. Tell it to stfu.

I feel that way about web design. Been doing it since the β€˜90s.

Just remember, β€œapps” like Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and more spend billions on teams of Devs and still have bugs and have to update often. If it was easy, everyone would do it. πŸ‘

Along with that, ever think "I hope no one ever looks at this source code..."?😜

Imposter syndrome is a shitty mind virus πŸ’”

So what I'm understanding from this thread is that all highly skilled people actually believe themselves to be highly regarded instead.

Right in the feelsπŸ₯²

In the land of Nostr, you can show your shitty code as all code is shitty. In other places the code is also shitty, but there they don't show it.

30 years in this profession.

I used to write elegant code. Then I switched to just hacking stuff together. Lot more copypasta now in my stuff to be able to build and move on. Makes it easier to come back later and interpret what was going on.

I just try to keep my variable and function names very precise and the rest fuck it spaghetti code because probably gonna rip it up soon anyways

I’m just learning to code now! Is it really copy 🍝 all the way down?!

Copy pasta was the bad old days. Now it’s ChatGPT pasta.

to publish shitty code is liberating!

The imposter syndrome struggle is real πŸ«‚

Seems like every dev I know has it (myself included).

Your post is creating a buzz.
