A $102 million settlement has been reached between the US government and Singapore-based shipping firms, Grace Ocean Private Limited and Synergy Marine Private Limited, to cover cleanup costs following a bridge collapse in Baltimore earlier this year. The incident killed six people and disrupted local shipping for months. Although the companies deny liability, they have agreed to pay the settlement despite being fully insured. However, many unresolved claims remain, including those from the state of Maryland, local authorities, families of victims, and insurance companies.
