It took my ground coffee going stale one time to push me there.
So long as you bloom your coffee, freshly ground beans are far superior. I grind beans every morning.
I didn't even know about that. I will definitely do that next time.
My brewer has a bloom button. So it’s pretty easy for me.

You can get the same, if not better brew with a high quality drip machine.
Just added complexity (cleaning, space, etc) for my lifestyle, but I'm glad you like it.

I am curious which machine you use though. Quality was an issue back when I made this choice. Maybe things have changed.
Small drip maker on timer for 1st cup to give me the focus to grind beans boil water and use my chemex for cup 2-5
