#[0] #[1] any ideas on setting up a parallel long wave Bitcoin node network? I’m ready for a DIY project to further strengthen the network. Let me know your thoughts. Maybe we could fabricate a shopping list and dummy manual?

Start with a ham license, good learning there.

I’m working on a similar idea myself. The local ham community where I am is dead set against this, but there are ways around that

“Breadcast” is not allowed on ham bands, they are for two way. You can however use them to **test** ideas. Before doing stuff get a license.

Should be easy enough. I have all my maritime licenses being a captain. Came across http://js8call.com looks interesting. I wonder how hard it would be to just have software doing all the hard work for us? Do you happen to know what the bandwidth is of let’s say 7Mhz?

I see two challenges: 1. Having multiple Tx/Rx peers. 2. Ordinals.

FLDigi and PSK on HF can do the heavy lifting. Vara Modem is better but closed source. But If ppl were serious and there was actual need, would be good to develop a more specific protocol based on Nostr spec to save on bandwith.

And yea; JS8Call is fun, I work it often.

Are you not worried the WEF will just turn off the internet for fun?

I’d have a lot of fun if that happens.

But are we ready? That’s what this is about. What if bad actors are better prepared than us in such a scenario and create the longer chain for a few weeks. The damage could be huge.

Interested in this as well. From what I’ve read, ham radio is plausible for transactions.
