Just offered the gerbils some corn silk from the popcorn we have been growing, they went completely crazy for it.... so after doing some more research I had not realised how medicinal it is apparently it is used a lot in traditional Chinese medicine for edema, hyperglycemia, depression, and fatigue. It even has allatoin in it the compound from comfrey that makes you heal faster.

Also there was a study done on gerbils that showed it reduced strokes and in them, which can b surprisingly common for them to suffer.
