I generally only buy things that are Swiss Made whenever possible. For love of country and simply to support local makers, craftsmen and producers.
Even when I visit a foreign land, I buy a product uniquely local to that town, region or country. Typically a food item.
There's a gift shop in Antarctica in the British Station or Port Lockroy. Operated by the British, of course. I left there empty handed because there obviously isn't anything made in Antarctica. There are however plenty of trinkets made in China in the shop.
In the words of our kiwi expedition lead, "Nah. Yeah, nah."
I also try to avoid made in china if possible but in my opinion quality is dropping since 2020

You mean quality of everything in general? Rarely did China ever make anything of quality long before 2020.
e.g. made in swiss, germany β¦ france β¦.
