Okay. I don’t watch tv, and I’m not on centralized social media. What’s going on out there?
Spain lost power at 12.30 their time. Most of the country still powerless
Yes, Alaska's power grid is not connected to the rest of north america. It would have no direct impact on me.
If Alaska's power grid goes down, they open a switch an isolate my county's power system from the rest of the state and life goes on. It was tested a few years ago when a forest fire burned down the interconnecting like. Everything worked fine.
If the county's power grid goes down, I have enough gas to run the generator for at least week and then we'll have to start feasting on whatever is left in the chest freezer, hauling water from the creek and burning firewood. It's manageable.
We're off grid, so yes, but also no, cause we have no food or cash so if the internet also goes down... 😬
