One concern that popped into my head was the safety side of it, like what if someone sets up a high-value reward for a location and then mugs whoever shows up. If you’re into Bitcoin, you’re kind of advertising that you might be worth targeting.

That said, I really do like the idea. It sounds fun, and I’d honestly love to join a hunt or even run one myself. I guess this is just the cynical part of my brain going, “wait a second…”

Ideally you’re only joining hunts that you trust. Maybe it’s a conference sponsor or a local bitcoin business or a meetup organizer. Since currently the process of the host sharing the join hunt code with potential players only happens off the app privately.

I don’t foresee fully public hunts that anyone can host and join where the hunt codes for active hunts are displayed on the website or anything like that…
