I agree, except that most of the 4 million Bitcoin that have been lost have been lost due to the many flaws of self custody. Not your keys, not your Bitcoin also applies if you can’t find your keys.

Yes, that’s true. But instead to trust others, you have to learn self custody and that you are responsible for your backups.

Again, I agree, but that limits adoption. The ETFs are driving adoption, because most people are generally insecure about money management and just want someone else to handle it for them. They want trusted 3rd parties to do it, just like their other ETFs and mutual funds. So people and businesses are buying the Bitcoin ETFs like crazy, which is a very good thing for everyone, including the self custody majority.
