I think the voters got exactly what they desereved.

Whats going on now has nothing much to do with brexit, which was an expression of a desire to be a sovereign nation with a much smaller state.

It was seen as a problem to solve by a group of political elites that had moved to the left.

And then in the last election a small cohort of people voted for labour based only on the grounds they weren't the tories....

Tl;dr... they got exactly what they wanted, they just didn't realise what they were going to get.
