One thing I do like about Threads is that you can't see how many accounts people follow, so there's no reason to hold back on following people for a good ratio

Also you can detach quotes if people are trying to be dicks (haven't had it happen yet)

I think Bluesky and Threads competing is going to be great for social media, but sadly I do see fedi continuing to fall behind unless Mastodon starts to get its shit together (bug fixes and some color changes aren't enough)

nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnddaehgu3wwp6kyqpq5erk9uzxqplx24h2t9qlqlmx5rlkq68xtzmd8ngqy6lqq9y5fegs4jltwp the things that bluesky are adding won't work or aren't enforceable on the tiny subset of their network that is actually decentralized. but it won't matter because people don't care about decentralization. if people don't care about decentralization then they don't care about the main value proposition of the fediverse, which is also the thing that makes the stuff they want impossible here. so people are better off on bluesky than fedi, fedi will continue to lose users and people will continue to migrate to bluesky while stepping right over fediverse as an option.

Mastodon is about the worst platform on the 'verse. I don't know what can be done about it.
