TIL,

when someone recieves a Presidential pardon, they can no longer plead the 5th during questioning, as there is no way they can incriminate themselves. Therefore, refusal to answer in a Congressional investigation, or a Grand Jury, is not protected.

Good to know

Can they still be perjured for lying? bc they could just sit there and say anything.

I'm pretty sure it's when someone **accepts** a Presidential pardon.

I’m not sure this is accurate. A presidential pardon is for federal crimes. The person who received the pardon could still be convicted in a state court or implicate themselves in a civil manner. I’m pretty sure the 5th amendment still applies.

yeah, 5th isn't affected, but further inquiries can turn up cause for a charge of perjury and contempt still
