Damus. I guess Damus is converting the note string, because you can see that it shows a condensed version of the note ID

Yes. Your note ID ref in the content was converted to a pointer to the "d25e38" "e" tag.

The first "e" tag would be the note you were responding to (mine) and the "p" ref is who you were responding to (me). Other clients would have added "root" or "reply" to the first "e" tag.

Things are def not very standardized right now!!!

#[4] does it make sense for my reply (sent from Iris) above to include a "p" ref tag to myself? I haven't checked yet if other clients are doing that, but seems unnecessary when I'm the person responding.

Ah, I see. I wonder if you use & instead of @. That was the old way to do it in Damus
