Yes, except evs are a control mechanism.
Someone made the case that if you have a way to charge it yourself (solar, generator) it could actually be freedom tech
They can use all of the experimental technology they want, but they'll always lose out to fossil fuels. They just push all of the "energy consumption" under the rug of production processes the consumer never sees.
