Who owns all the media sources?

That’s just me thinking out loud. How TF are algorithms even legal? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I believe in humanity being able to look and consume anything they want.

Algorithms make everything go so quickly one sided or another that I’m not sure how modern humanity is supposed to be expected to know * what * to research outside everything they see.

Still, always hopeful for humanity. Won’t be one of those old people saying “ All hope is lost .” Constantly seeking solutions 🥰🙏🫂

Is a biased algorithm like that really any different than cable news though? The choice there is either left fear porn and propaganda or right fear porn and propaganda. Different platforms, but same overall model IMO.

I believe you. Quit watching the news years ago. Sometimes choose to check various news sources for an overall view 🙏

Yea I stopped quite some time ago as well, but like you said, check in occasionally. I like to keep up on what the narratives are. Helps know what to expect next.

i pulled this from law and crime on youtube. i love the channel. i like watching human behavior. criminals and cops, lawyers and judges, the law all intrigue me. i like dark shit like that, guilty pleasure. 🤷🏾‍♂️ might fuck around and go to the court house today just to watch 🍿🤓

Hahaha, never heard of the channel, but you sold me on it with this summary😂

there is a little bit of everything on there for sure. enjoy 🤙

Take notes & nod knowingly now and again just to mess with everyone. 🤣🙏😊

im serious 🤣🤣🤣. its another way to get to know the people that live in your community. like being an uber driver you find out who lives there, where they work, eat, party, shop etc except the courthouse is more dramatic

Sure

Another thing about algos in social media and whatnot. Your typical person would almost certainly love em. Not many people really like to step out if their echochambers. That's why people will whine and complan about twitter for example. But not leave because its comfortable. And as was evident by the brief exodus from twitter to the fediverse, the non-algo nature of it quite literally horrified people. It was fucking hilarious while it lasted. And a similar phenomena is happening at Substack. People are losing their fucking minds seeing opposing opinions and there was actually an organized 'nazi hunt' on the platform trying to convince the susbstack guys to ban anyone who commits wrongthink of any type. Someone even compiled a list of around 300 substacks and other blogs deemed guilty of wrongthink and 'nazi' publications.
