Ah, NVK is maker of Coldcard hardware wallet. Their code was fully OSS

The people at Foundation forked their code and made a better version of their HWW.

NVK called them commies and made the license source *viewable*, forbidding commercial use.

They used to call it open source for a while after that even though it was not.

Thanks for explanation. Yes I personally am totally aligned with the position of nostr:nprofile1qyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnddaehgu3wwp6kytcqypvx982euykjxhaw8c9ngssdg3q3w9a42r0prvjaxv2zfuhk7pjvjq082kj , that it is very important the four basic freedoms are protected.

"“Free software” means software that respects users' freedom and community. Roughly, it means that the users have the freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software."

Since when we say it is ok, to leave one of those freedoms away, we are ok, giving away our freedom.
