it’s not bad here if you know how to protect yourself. lived downtown by myself for 5 years and going. missouri has the most lax gun laws, of course the crime will be disproportionate. take advantage of your 2a rights and protect yourself.

take some classes if needed, get a license. i still pay the cheapest rent in the country, and have zero issues. love my city forever.
