1) very few people actually get to see or participate in the fighting of a civil war.

2) you're not gonna see people up and killing random old folks for no reason.

3) if people being assaulted or killed "for the cause", for political reasons, is what it takes for a civil war, you're just confirming US is in a civil war.

I'm sure you'd acknowledge that Ukraine is at war. And yet most of Ukraine is actually peaceful, with people continuing their daily lives as they did before. People work in their field, they work their desk jobs, they work in shops. Why do people have this wrong idea that during a war literally everyone has to be fighting?
