70 Million Year Old Iridescent Ammonite Fossil 🐚🌈

Ammonites were squid-like creatures that lived during the time of dinosaurs in prehistoric oceans.

This particular ammonite is naturally iridescent and colorful due to the Ammolite gemstone that formed on its surface.

Ammolite is composed of thin layers of Aragonite. When light interacts with these layers, the resulting interference produces a vibrant array of colors.

This fossil was discovered in Southern Alberta, Canada, and it is part of the Granada Gallery collection.
