I don't like utilitarian arguments in general, but it seems one could easily be made about this.

These people are unhinged, and it may be a good thing they're volunteering themselves out of the genepool.

However, I personally see them as victims of a parasitic mind worm. I'd prefer for them to be cured, than to see them commiting gene-suicide.
