The Governing Council of the European Central Bank moves to the next phase of the digital euro project: the preparation phase.

The preparation phase – will start on 1 November 2023 and will initially last two years.

Ahh yes, the '$1 spent by the govt is $2 worth of gdp...' argument...so tiring 😞

Prediction: CBDC’s will launch as UBI portals when legacy systems are breaking due to sustained high inflation. This will be their “save”. The big countries will rebrand their currency, attempt to appease citizens with payouts and pretend that the money is fixed with the rollout of CBDC’s. Obviously it’ll be an abject failure and a trap.
