When I was young, my mother used to say, "All knowledge is useful" and that I shouldn't shy away from learning ANYTHING, and she used to say this repeatedly, I'm not sure if it's absolutely true, but it did make me curious about everything and always eager to learn anything, which to me is solid advice.
