I think the 'like' function should be removed as zaps take care of that, and replace with with a bookmark for later option . i see lots of things while scrolling i want to read or look into later, but as it stands i need to make a comment on it so that it is in my replies section otherwise ot is lost to the feed.

I think like should remain because acknowleding that you enjoy someone's content shouldn't be "just" tied to sending them money. I like many notes on nostr from food to countryside pictures all the way to Bitcoin notes. But, I only zap the ones that I find particularly entertaining, educating or informational. Others I simply like because I like that content.
